This course encourages slow, careful, deliberate readings of John Milton’s Paradise Lost. We invite students to encounter Paradise Lost through close reading, community, and conversation.

Although applications are now closed, each lecture will be uploaded weekly to our Lecture page.

Reading one book per week, we’ll complete Milton’s epic in one semester. Each meeting will last 90 minutes, consisting of a recorded lecture (30-40 minutes) followed by an unrecorded Q&A and discussion-section.

Anyone—regardless of age, background, or education—will be warmly received. A basic competency in reading English is required.
